More than 60% of women in Ukraine experience psychological, physical, or sexual violence, and almost one out of three are victims of their partners. This is evidenced by the OSCE study з питань on the welfare and safety of women in Ukraine.

The National Police of Ukraine received 203 724 reports of domestic violence cases in eight months of 2021. By contrast, in 2020, the police received 174 386 reports of offenses and other actions related to domestic violence.
For domestic violence as a crime, the abuser may be punished with community service, arrest for up to six months, restriction of liberty for up to five years, or imprisonment for up to two years.
In 2020, the authorities and institutions that counteract domestic violence recorded 211 362 domestic violence appeals. 180 921 reports were received from women, 27 676 — from men, and 2 756 — from children.
As of January 1, 2021, there are 33 shelters for victims of domestic violence in 18 regions and Kyiv.
In Ukraine, there are 304 mobile teams of social and psychological assistance to victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence.
In 2021, most people who seek help do so for the first time, although they have been suffering from violence for a long time.
3 million children annually witness domestic violence, that is, they are INVISIBLE VICTIMS who, according to statistics, tend to repeat similar scenarios in their adult life.
Every year, more than one million Ukrainian women are subjected to physical, sexual, and psychological violence in their families, but only 15% of victims contact law enforcement agencies.
